Hi... hope you or a contact can help. I'm looking for confirmation of the bus service from Dunston to Newcastle/Gateshead which replaced the trams immediately following their withdrawal on 4 August 1951. By October 1953 the timetable shows the 3 and 14 services running to Dunston but in 1950 the 3 was still running Walbottle to Newgate Street only and the 14 went to Heworth...

Eee I remember the 14 bus stop in Dunston, it stopped at the bottom of what is now Clockmill Road. The bus had enough room to turn about on itself to go back up Gas Yard Bank as it could not get under the railway bridge over the River Team and this was in 1969 give or take a year.
